Description: For centuries the Japanese have had family emblems they embroidered on their clothing to designate family units. The students in my class will choose one of the five Gingko leaf blocks that Roxanne adapted to applique from a book on ancient Japanese Family Crests. The advantage to this all day class is that extra time can be invested on perfecting needle-turn applique techniques. Students will be exposed to reverse applique and channel applique. Students come close to finishing an entire block. 3 Hour Class Skill Level: Intermediate Class Size: 20-25 students Project: Japanese Gingko pattern by Roxanne Products Co. Description: This shorter version of the above described class focuses on one block of the design so that students can feel confident transferring designs to fabric, reverse applique and channel applique techniques.
